Last night's HAIR benefit was a huge success! Thanks to all the fans who came out to support such a wonderful organization. More than half a million dollars was raised for The Actors' Fund of America. AND ~ Julie filled in last minute for Idina Menzel (2004 Tony Award winner for WICKED)! When Idina couldn't make it to the concert, Julie was asked to sing her number, Walking In Space. Julie is very pleased with how it went and is so honoured to have been a part of such a special evening. See photos and more!
Saturday, September 18, 2004 ~ Julie will be appearing in PIPPIN in Concert. It is a benefit for The National AIDS Fund and will be happening in Manhattan in late November. More details to come! Monday, August 7, 2004 ~
It's time again for the Actor's Fund Concert! This year's offering is HAIR in Concert. Julie will be in the "tribe" at the 4th Annual Concert on September 20, 2004. The tickets sell out fast as this event is extremely popular. All of the funds benefit the Actor's Fund of America. Big HAIR Monday, August 2, 2004 ~ Julie has been invited to play the leading role of Hannah in the reading of the new musical Terezin. The musical centers around the lives of Jewish poets, artists and musicians held at the Terezin Concentration Camp during World War II. The character of Hannah is based on one of the many painters who tried to document what life was truly like in the camp through art. The paintings were then hidden and found after the war was over. Terezin: book by Peter Ullian, Music by Joel Derfner, Lyrics by Len Schiff. The reading is closed to the public and will take place on August 13, 2004. New Mondays presents the works of accomplished and up-n-coming composers. On Monday, February 16, Christopher Hamblin, Larry O'Keefe, Maria Gentile and Caren Cole will be the featured composers. Julie will be singing at 7pm for both Larry O'Keefe (composer/lyricist of Bat Boy, The Musical) and Christopher Hamblin.
